Rejected SIGN ME UP! Clubs
Okay, so maybe "rejected" is a little harsh. "Unused" might have been a better choice. In any case, in the quest to make a film in 24 hours, we actually ended up with TOO MUCH stuff. We ran about a minute heavy and had to make some decisions about what to cut.
1. The CN Tower Inadaquacy Support Group
This was actually one of the first concepts we came up with (in fact, we considered making the whole movie around it). Unfortunatly, we filmed it on a windy bridge, and the original audio was terrible. So to save it, we tried re-recording the voices at my apartment. As you can see, it didn't work so well. We might have left it in anyway if we weren't pressed for time.
2. The Toronto Astronomy Club
I remember during The Blackout a few years ago that everyone in the city was astounded to actually see stars in the sky in Toronto. We thought, "What DO people look for when they look up?" Apparently, airplanes. We originally had this one as (I think) the second club, and it just kinda slowed the movie down right when it should have ramped up. It's quite funny on it's own, though. We'd have left it in, if not for time.
3. The Erotic Fruit Appreciation Society
Actually, we cut this one even before we ran long. It just didn't "work" once we brought it to the edit suite. I think it wasn't "erotic" enough. We just look like two guys who really like fruit. Maybe we should have been nude. That would have got us kicked out of the market! Or would it have? Hmmmm...
